Description
Sedum makinoi, commonly known as Stonecrop, is a tough, low-growing succulent groundcover that forms a dense mat of tiny round green leaves. Its compact growth habit makes it ideal for edging, rock gardens, pathways, container gardening, and filling gaps between stepping stones.
This plant thrives in full sun to semi-shade, making it extremely versatile in both indoor and outdoor settings. In brighter light, the foliage becomes more compact and vibrant. Sedum makinoi is drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot, as it prefers a fast-draining, sandy or succulent-style mix.
Stonecrop is exceptionally low-maintenance and well suited for gardeners of all levels. It withstands heat, light frost, and irregular watering. Feed lightly during spring and summer to encourage lush new growth.
In a 20cm pot, this plant already forms a full, established mat ready for instant use in landscaping or decorative container displays. It spreads easily and can also be divided to create more plants.
Perfect for modern gardens, water-wise landscapes, balcony gardens, and anyone wanting a hardy, attractive filler plant.
