WELCOME!
We are excited to be putting together the first Jozi Plant Expo & Swop, and we are looking for plant people from all walks of life to be part of it.
This event is about bringing together nurseries, small independent plant sellers, home propagators, online sellers, collectors, plant swoppers and garden-related businesses for one big day of buying, selling, swapping and connecting.
Whether you have a full nursery or sell a few plants from home, we want to hear from you.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Plant nurseries
- Independent plant sellers
- Home propagators
- Online plant sellers
- Indoor plant sellers
- Succulent and cactus sellers
- Orchid sellers

- Indigenous and garden plant sellers
- Plant collectors with plants to sell

- Pot and planter sellers
- Garden décor

- Garden-related products and services
- And anything else we feel fits the spirit of the expo
WHAT CAN EXHIBITORS EXPECT?
The aim is simple:
Bring your plants. Meet plant people. Sell your plants. Find new customers.
The event will be promoted through social media and the Sylvia Pass Nursery customer community, with further promotion planned as we get closer to the event.
We want this to become an event that plant sellers look forward to every year.
2. EXHIBITOR RULES & GUIDELINES
This section needs to be very clear, because this is what will stop the event becoming the “hassle” the previous flea market apparently became.
1. APPLICATION & SPACE
All exhibitors must complete an application form and be approved before receiving a vendor space.
A exhibitor space is only confirmed once the required payment has been received.
Exhibitor fees: 350 per stall
Exhibitors may not transfer, sell or share their allocated space with another seller without prior approval.
2. WHAT YOU MAY SELL
Products must be primarily plant, gardening or garden-related.
All plants and products must be accurately described and priced.
If you are unsure whether your products are suitable for the expo, please ask us before applying.
3. PLANT QUALITY
We want customers to leave excited about the plants they have bought.
All plants must be reasonably healthy and free from obvious pests and diseases.
Exhibitors are responsible for ensuring that their plants and products comply with any applicable South African plant-health, transport or legal requirements.
4. PRICING & SALES
Each exhibitor is responsible for:
- Their own prices
- Taking payments
- Providing change where necessary
- Packaging their sales
- Handling customer queries relating to their products
- Keeping their own sales records
The organisers are not responsible for individual exhibitor sales, losses or disputes between exhibitors and customers.
5. SET-UP
Exhibitors will receive their allocated set-up time before the event.
All exhibitors must be completely set up by the designated opening time.
Please do not pack up early unless there is an emergency or you have received permission from the organisers.
6. YOUR STALL
Exhibitors are responsible for bringing everything they need for their stall unless specifically stated otherwise.
This may include:
- Table
- Chairs
- Gazebo
- Table covering
- Display stands
- Signage
- Pricing
- Bags
- Card machine
- Extension leads, if approved
- Water for plants
Your stall should be neat, attractive and safe.
8. CLEAN-UP
Every exhibitor is responsible for leaving their space clean and free of rubbish, plant material, packaging and other waste.
Please leave the space as you found it.
9. PARKING & LOADING
Exhibitors will receive separate information regarding exhibitor parking, unloading and loading.
For safety reasons, vehicles may not remain in areas designated for customers during the event.
10. CONDUCT
We want this to be a fun event for everyone.
Exhibitors are expected to treat customers, fellow exhibitors, staff and organisers respectfully.
Aggressive behaviour, harassment, discrimination or conduct that creates an unsafe environment will not be tolerated.
11. ORGANISER’S RIGHT TO REFUSE PARTICIPATION
The organisers reserve the right to decline an application or ask a exhibitor to remove a product that does not fit the event or its requirements.
This is simply to ensure that the expo remains a genuine plant and garden event.
3. EXHIBITOR APPLICATION FORM
Please use the form below to apply to be an exhibitor.
