Description
Monstera adansonii (Swiss Cheese Plant)
A popular trailing or climbing indoor plant known for its unique, hole-filled leaves that give it a distinctive “Swiss cheese” look. Monstera adansonii has a lush, tropical appearance and grows beautifully when allowed to trail from a shelf or climb up a support. It’s a fast favourite for adding character and greenery to any indoor space.
Plant Care Guide
Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. It can tolerate medium light, but growth will slow. Avoid direct sunlight as it may scorch the leaves.
Watering:
Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Water thoroughly, but do not let the plant sit in excess water.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity encourages larger, healthier leaves.
Temperature:
Thrives between 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged.
Feeding:
Feed every 2–4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
